Ovie Named One of League’s Three Stars

This will come as no surprise to anyone, but Caps left winger Alex Ovechkin has been named one of the NHL’s Three Stars for the week ending Dec. 30. With five goals and seven points in three games, Ovechkin was named the league’s No. 1 star for the week. The Rangers’ Jaromir Jagr was named No. 2 star and San Jose goaltender Evgeni Nabokov earned No. 3 star honors. This marks Ovechkin’s second Three Star honor this season. He was named the league’s No. 3 star for the week of Oct. 29.

Good to see Ovie get the recognition. Not that I worry much about who they choose. But, still nice. And I think you meant Alex’s buddy Evgeni Nabokov was 3rd Star.

  2. It’s Evgeni, not Vladimir Nabokov. Go, Nabby!

Um, yeah. Not sure why I had Vlad Nabby on the brain today, but thanks for the correction. He’s probably one of the three stars of Russian Lit, at least on my list.

Great for Ovie but I’m bummed about Jargirl picking up the pace. At this point he may trigger the point total, 84 I believe, and then if the Rangers make it to the 2’nd round Ted is on the hook for his salary next year. Is this correct? Thanks.
