Lineup Tweak

The starting line for tonight’s tilt between the caps and Rangers is Donald Brashear (who took the warm-up wearing one of the red mullet wigs) on the left side of a line with Brooks Laich and Joe Motkzo. That puts Tomas Fleischmann back up with Viktor Kozlov and Alexander Semin. As expected, Brian Pothier is back in the lineup and will start on defense alongside John Erskine.

And the Rangers will start out with Blair Betts between Ryan Hollweg and Colton Orr.

THAT was a fantastic game! I wish all of our games had that kind of intensity. These tougher teams like the Rangers, Philly and the Devils really bring out the best in our team. It is a real shame that the divisions are made up the way they are. We should be in with them. It would put more fannies in the seats, too.

Brashear looked great in the wig, fighting, crashing the boards and in his 2 assists. Terrific! Green and Ovie were great as well. Who would have thought that Motzko would score let alone twice. And what’s up with Schultz? If he would play more of a physical game, I’d like him.

Finally, our lousy ice gives US a break for once, though it did cost us a goal, too.

Very entertaining game. Win or lose, it was a really good one. We won, so it’s even better!

That was a great game. I’ve always thought that Brashear played better than he got credit for. But, he was especially good in this game. And you’d think Shanny would be used to playing on lousy ice by now.

Guess the switch worked out pretty well, didn’t it? 🙂
