Motzko Moves Up

Joe Motzko figured he’d be playing hockey in upstate New York tonight, but he did not count on wearing a red, white and blue Caps sweater and skating against the Sabres at HSBC Arena. But that’s where he’ll be. The Caps summoned Motzko from Hershey of the AHL and he has reported in time for tonight’s game.

The Bears are in Binghamton tonight, finally ready for their second game of the season after a 10-day layoff.

Motzko didn’t look out of place at all during the game… except for the last part of the second, where the Caps looked out of place. Other than those 5 minutes, the Caps played the Sabres pretty well, but going in, I figured the Sabres would be better than the Caps (The Caps are probably the sixth best team in the East (behind the Rangers, Devils, Penguins, Sabres and Senators). Still the best team in the Southeast. If they win 25 or more Southeast games, they’ll win the division.. and they’re off to a 2-0 start.
