Word From New York

Is that Boyd Gordon did not skate this morning. Still awaiting further word on the nature of the ailment, but right now it looks as though Brian Sutherby will make his 2007-08 debut and will replace Gordon in the lineup.

More as it becomes available.

Mike you see Steckel moving to Goro’s spot? Or you see Suts taking it.

  2. Kurt Says:

Damn… I was hoping to get to see Gordon play tonight.

Anyone else going to the Garden tonight for the game?

  3. Matt Says:

Good thing we didn’t trade him yesterday…injury bug hits at all times.

  4. TJ Says:

Ill be at MSG tonight, should be great. Go Caps.

First time seeing them in their new Home unis(Im old school).

  5. Scott Says:

Can’t watch caps game on Saturday thanks to Cox not carrying CSN+

Gordon will be a game-time decision. My hunch is that if he can’t go, Steckel will center Pettinger and Clark and Sutherby will be between Brashear and Laich/Bradley. Still a chance Gordon will play, we’ll find out in a few hours.

It’s nice that we have enough depth that an injury to Gordo (hopefully not serious) that we can bring in someone like Sutherby, who would be playing a regular shift on most NHL teams. If I were Hanlon, I’d do what Mike suggested in that I’d bring Steckel up to line 3, and put Suts on the line with Brashear and Bradley (Laich has to move up to Semin’s spot).

  8. Kurt Says:

TJ, drop by and say hi if you feel so inclined. Section 413, I’ll be the one guy in the sea of season-ticket holders with the new Caps home uni on.

  9. Sharon Says:

Do you know if Lundqvist will start tonight since it is the first of back-to-back (with Ottawa tomorrow)?
