Special Delivery

Sidney Crosby takes a good bit of heat from Caps (and likely some other non-Penguin) fans, and I’d never suggest that some of it isn’t deserved. But you’ve gotta tip a cap to a superstar who’s willing to do something like this. Maybe it’s just because he’s not old enough and hasn’t been around long enough to be jaded, but I give him credit for going along.

It’s a gimmick, sure, but a clever one. And I’m certain that the Pens fans who opened their doors to find Pittsburgh players on the porch over the weekend appreciated it as well.

It was an EXCELLENT move and ridiculously INEXPENSIVE (hello NHL teams) to employ. A very easy promotion for the players/coaches and not time intensive, but worth a fortune in fan goodwill and publicity.

    1) So when should we expect Ovechkin to be coming by the house to deliver up our caps tickets?????

A commemorative item for long-term season ticket holders? The Caps have never done anything like that in my 22 years of being a plan-holder (since 1985-86)…

    Great idea by the Pens.
