Lineup Tweaks in Calgary

Just came back from the morning skate, and the Washington lineup will have some adjustments tonight. Kris Beech is back in; the Caps were looking to just get him a night off in Edmonton. He’ll skate between Alexander Semin and Matt Pettinger. Brooks Laich will skate the left side of a line with Brian Sutherby and Matt Bradley. Boyd Gordon will play between Donald Brashear and Richard Zednik.

Caps coach Glen Hanlon remarked that he thought Saturday’s game in Edmonton was Bryan Muir’s best as a Capital. As a result, Muir will stay in the lineup as Mike Green’s partner. Jamie Heward is back in: he will play with Ben Clymer. Steve Eminger, Jakub Klepis and Rico Fata are the scratches tonight.

More after lunch.

I like this line up…nice balance with the forwards.

Eminger getting the wake up call…let’s see if it works.

Quick question: What are the red circular broaches for on the coaches suits? I’ve seen them in a few games now and I haven’t heard what they are for and can’t find it online. Thanks for the good work and coverage out west!

  3. Frank Says:

The “red circular broaches” are poppies and they are sold every year before Remembrance Day (Veterans Day in U.S.) proceeds support Canadian military veterans.

Also line changes seemed to have sparked Zednik. Great game last night.

    Go Caps.

I liked the lineup changes too, both before and after the game. It will be interesting to see how Eminger responds when he gets back in. He has the talent and the tools to succeed in this league, but he’s just fighting it a bit right now. He turned 23 today and is still just a kid.
