Nice. I'm looking forward to taking my daughter to hockey games one day. She's only 3 months old but the only tv she's seen is OT playoff hockey. The other night I couldn't feed her anymore because she turned her head so far to the side to 'see the game' that the bottle was rendered useless. I don;t like the idea of kids and babes watching tv but I'm ok with hockey, for obvious reasons. Your story reminded me just how much I'm looking forward to taking her to see my Caps. I have a cute little pair of footies with hockey sticks and puck on them (made in good old Burnaby, B.C.) that are already getting too small! We're pulling for Van but I'm pretty sure the Ducks are winning this one.

Great father-son story and quite a game to witness in person.

Brings back memories of watching the Devils win game 7 in 2003 from the second to last row at CAA while sitting next to my dad (of course, with the caveat, that one is a father daughter story).

Personally, I am hoping to make it to another playoff game at CAA before the Devils leave for good; for all the negatives, including the steep steps as one heads upwards, very true about the great sightlines and fewer advertising gimicks. Of course, the parking there is worse than ever with the garage and Xanadu mess, but made up for since they allow tailgating.

Hopefully, you will be able to take your son to a playoff game at Verizon next year and witness a victory by the home team.
